How to Properly Wax Your Skis
Ensure a smooth, fast ride by following these essential ski waxing steps:
- 1. Dry and Clean the Ski Base: Start by thoroughly drying and cleaning the base of your skis to remove any dirt or residue.
- 2. Apply Ski Wax: Heat the ski wax with a waxing iron and evenly apply it to the entire base. Use a low temperature to avoid damaging the skis.
- 3. Let the Wax Set: Allow the wax to cool and set on the base for at least 2 hours to maximize absorption.
- 4. Scrape Off Excess Wax: Use a plastic scraper to remove all excess wax from the ski base, working from tip to tail.
- 5. Brush and Polish: First, brush the ski with a nylon brush to clean off remaining wax particles. Then, finish by polishing the base with a horsehair brush for a smooth, professional finish.
